IOP for Adolescent Girls

Transformation Memphis - Eating Disorders and IOPWe understand the deep concern parents experience when their child encounters significant emotional and behavioral problems. How can this be happening?  What have we done wrong? What is really at the heart of the problem?

If your daughter is struggling with depression, self-abuse, anxiety, anger issues or displays other signs of emotional problem, it is important to find help quickly before the situation becomes more severe.

A Common Thread

The common underlying cause for many adolescent emotional and behavioral problems is depression. Often overlooked depression is a serious condition that needs to be treated seriously.

More than 70 percent of teenagers will have an episode of depression before adulthood, often lasting more than eight months.  Most teens with depression, about 20% of all teens, suffer from more than one episode.

Transformation Memphis brings healing to your eating disorder or IOP needTeenage girls have somewhat stronger dependence on social ties and are more vulnerable to depression brought on by social stressors.

Unfortunately less than a third of teens get help, even though treatment can be quite effective for most.

How We Can Help

The Transformation Intensive Outpatient Program for Adolescent Females with mental health issues is a dynamic pioneering effort designed to help adolescent girls and their families with behavioral and emotional problems. Our mission is to provide a warm, therapeutic, yet structured environment in order to facilitate behavioral changes and emotional growth. We are here to help empower adolescent girls and their families to make necessary life changes.

A number of our methods are aimed at identifying, treating, and preventing familial, behavioral and attitudinal issues before they manifest into major psychiatric and/or family crises. Some of the issues and conditions we address are:

Depression - Self-abuse -  Family conflict -  Anxiety -  Social problems -  Anger management - Past trauma or abuse  - Conflict resolution.

Due to our efforts to remain highly specialized in the treatment we provide, the Transformation Center program does not treat alcohol and drug dependency issues.  If your child has these issues, we are happy to discuss other community treatment resources with you.

Transformation Memphis - your teenage girl can find help and healing herePersonalized Treatment

We offer group therapy, individual therapy and work with the family as well. We address our clients holistically, including their needs for exercise, proper nutrition and stress reduction. By treating body and mind as two intricately woven parts of the same person, we increase the likelihood of long-term changes that will result in a sound mind, a healthy body and a balanced lifestyle.

A Team of Professionals

Each client in our program is provided the highest quality of care from a treatment team of professionals including a Medical Director, a Clinical Director, licensed therapists and certified trainers and instructors. This team meets together once a week to review the progress of each girl and to revise the treatment program whenever necessary. With this approach to treatment, each individual reaps the benefit of input from professionals in different disciplines.

How the Program Works

The team provides each girl nine hours of treatment and support every week. Two-thirds of those hours are dedicated to traditional individual and group therapy and one-third is devoted to mind/body therapies such as fitness training, nutritional planning and stress reduction techniques.

Transformation MemphisA Family Approach

The staff at the Transformation Center recognizes the significant role family plays in the emotional health of each girl in our program. We are committed to working with parents to help improve appropriate and effective communication, assist in parenting decisions and create opportunities for new and beneficial support systems with other families.

Support for Change

Making lasting changes is difficult work, but the Transformation Counseling Center offers a safe environment where our clients not only identify areas that need to be transformed but we also help each girl to practice and implement more effective ways of functioning so that their lives are truly changed for the better. Families are taught to encourage and accept these new behaviors to help establish a pattern of wellness that continues into adulthood.
